Feedback from Actual Training Session
October 2025 for ROVER

Main issue – leash walking

"Mollie, the guardian, was sooooo sweet, and her dog was great. She’s had dogs her whole life and had great intuition.

The pup’s issue was she was just putting on the brakes on walks on the way home. Mollie, bless her heart, was loosening her grip on the leash and giving her a treat to start moving again, which only trained Rover to do it more.

We discussed where to clip her leash to help give her leverage, when to treat, and to keep even pressure on the leash so she would start moving again without a treat. And if we treat her, it’s for things like eye contact or getting in the heel position on her own.

Rover is not destructive, not reactive, not aggressive, or nervous. She is actually pretty mellow so I think that Mollie benefited most by feeling validated that what she’s doing is right on track and that little tips and tricks I gave her will help sharpen up Rovers’ leash-walking skills."
